Skate Preview: the 2006 Rollerblade Collection

Rollerblade's New Adjustable Length Frame

The Activa 4D

Do Women Want an Adjustable Length Frame?

By Robert "Just the Factoids" Burnson

The Activa 4D is Rollerblade's adjustable-frame skate for women.

It mirrors the Crossfire 4D (the men's adjustable-frame skate) in most particulars, except color and fit. (Like all Rollerblade women's skate, it has a women's last and liner.)

The frame expands from 274 mm (medium size) to 300 mm (longish).

It comes with 90mm wheels and ABEC 7 bearings.

It also has Rollerblade's TFS One-Pull Closure system and its new Crossfire ultra-light shell.

The street price is expected to be $229.

The skates should appear online and in stores in mid-January 2006.

The skates will come in sizes 23 to 27.5 (6 to 10.5 women's U.S.)

Frame mount spacing is 165 mm.
