Alone at the Front - Team Safe's Dennis Humphrey took the lead on the first hill of the rolling course and skated the rest of the race alone. The 50-year-old from Albany, N.Y., won the race with a time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and 34 seconds. The pace was slower than last year when Louis Beaudoin of Berkeley, Calif., posted a winning time of 1 hour, 18 minutes and 20 seconds.
