SKATE TIP OF THE WEEK
Inline secrets from the world's top skaters and coaches

This week's tip:

Safe by Design

A guide to setting up a safe and fair finish for an inline speed skating road race

By San Diego Street Elite

Final Thoughts

There are many recommendations in this guide but one is by far the most important to both the event staff and the skaters:

Try to have a deceleration zone after the finish line of 150 feet or more.

Thank you for taking the time to read this guide. Hopefully you have found it useful. Skaters greatly appreciate the efforts you have made to include them in your event and understand that each racecourse will be different and present unique challenges.

If you would like free assistance in designing the finish line for your particular event, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
